Bordei Park, Park in Sector 1, Bucharest, Romania

Parcul Bordei is a park in Sector 1 of Bucharest, situated along the shore of Lacul Floreasca near Herăstrău Park. It features paved walking paths, shaded tree areas, a small playground for children, and a lake at its center.

The park opened in 1936 and served as a green retreat for city residents from the start. During the 1980s it was closed to the public because of its proximity to Nicolae Ceaușescu's residence, and it was only fully restored to public use after Romania's political changes.

The park holds a bust of Romanian poet Nichita Stănescu, placed among trees and benches where visitors often stop to sit. Swans and turtles can be seen near the lake, and locals tend to use the space for reading or quiet walks rather than active recreation.

Bicycles and roller skates are not allowed inside the park, which keeps the paths easy to walk along. The grounds are accessible and easy to navigate for visitors of all ages, including families with young children.

After the end of communist rule, the park was sold to a private investor in 2003 before being returned to the state a few years later. This back-and-forth ownership history is unusual for a city park and reflects a broader pattern of post-communist property disputes in Bucharest.
