Museum of Recent Art, Modern art museum in Primăverii district, Bucharest, Romania.
The Museum of Recent Art is housed in a five-story building with about 1200 square meters of space and displays over 150 artworks. The rooms spread across multiple levels and present a selection of modern and contemporary works from various artistic styles.
The building was created in 2018 on the site of an interwar villa that once belonged to Communist Party leader Ana Pauker. This transformation marked the start of the museum at this historically significant location.
The collection showcases works by Romanian and international artists, featuring creators like Ion Țuculescu and Andrei Cădere. Visitors can explore artworks that reflect different artistic directions and periods across the displayed pieces.
The museum is located on Primăverii Boulevard in the Primăverii district and is open daily except Tuesdays. Guided tours are available and help visitors better understand the collection.
The structure features dark-colored brick that sits above a fully glazed space, creating an open atrium. This atrium connects the exhibition directly to the street environment, forming an unusual relationship between indoor and outdoor areas.
