Arcul de Triumf Bucharest, Triumphal arch in Bucharest, Romania.
The Arcul de Triumf stands 27 meters tall with a granite construction, featuring sculptural decorations on its rectangular base measuring 25 meters in length.
Initially constructed as a wooden structure in 1878 to celebrate Romanian independence, the current monument was completed in 1936 following designs by architect Petre Antonescu.
Romanian sculptors Ion Jalea and Dimitrie Paciurea created intricate artworks that adorn the monument's facades, representing national military achievements and historical figures.
Visitors can climb the internal staircase to reach the observation platform, which provides views across the northern section of Bucharest and King Michael I Park.
The monument hosts annual military parades every December 1st during Romania's National Day celebrations, continuing a tradition that spans multiple generations.
