Kostelní věž kostela svatého Václava, Church tower with observation deck in Mikulov, Czech Republic

Kostelní věž kostela svatého Václava is a Renaissance church tower with an observation deck at its top, attached to the Church of Saint Wenceslas in the historic center of Mikulov, Czech Republic. The tower rises above the surrounding rooftops and can be seen from many points around town.

The church was built on the site of a Romanesque structure from the late 12th century, but construction of the current building began in the 15th century. Hussite attacks and repeated fires slowed progress considerably, and the church was completed only in the 17th century.

The tower holds three floors of exhibition space, where photos of Mikulov and works by local artists are on display alongside stories about the church's past. Although bells hang in the tower, the clock is struck by a mechanical chime rather than by hand.

The tower is open during the day and easy to reach on foot from the town center, as it sits in the historic part of Mikulov. Clear days offer the best views from the observation deck over the vineyards and surrounding hills.

Visitors can borrow a pair of binoculars at the entrance to see more details from the observation deck. The oldest bell in the tower dates to 1642 and was cast by a French bell maker named František Dubois.
