Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden, Botanical garden in Çamlık Mahallesi, Istanbul, Turkey
Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanik Bahçesi is a botanical garden in the Çamlık Mahallesi neighborhood of Istanbul, Turkey. It is built with metal structures that support walkways and planting areas across a large open site.
The garden was created as a project to bring more green space into a dense urban area, and over time it developed its own small ecosystem. The metal framework was planned from the start as a lasting support for the plant structures.
The garden sits near a busy road junction, so arriving by car or public transport with a planned route makes the visit smoother. Paths are mostly accessible, making it manageable for visitors with mobility needs.
The garden features signs encouraging visitors to walk on the grass, which is the opposite of most parks. Doing so is meant to help certain grasses grow and give the site a more natural appearance.
