Sal Parc, Theme park in Saint-Amand-Montrond, France
Sal Parc is a theme park in Saint-Amand-Montrond, France, set next to a lake on a site of a few hectares. It offers more than 20 attractions for all ages, including giant inflatables, pedal karts, a water zone with slides and pools, and a separate play area for young children.
The site was originally a wild and overgrown field, bought and cleared by Charles and Rachel Monnier, who then built the park from the ground up. They added attractions gradually over the years, turning an empty stretch of land into a place that now draws visitors from across the region.
The park is open from April through the end of August, and a full day is enough time to try most of the rides at a relaxed pace. In case of heavy rain, it may close for the day, so checking the park's Facebook page before visiting is a good idea.
One of the park's newer attractions, the Drop Zone tower, lifts riders high into the air before dropping them rapidly back down, and its installation alone cost around 100,000 euros. That is a notable investment for a park of this size, and it shows how the owners keep adding bigger thrills each season.
