Marina Isola Rossa is a harbor on the northern coast of Sardinia, Italy, located in the small town of Isola Rossa in the Gallura region. It offers moorings for boats of various sizes, with basic services including water, electricity, and fuel for passing sailors.
The marina opened in 2002, growing around a small fishing town that had been established since the early 20th century. A 16th-century watchtower still stands nearby, built to protect the coastline from pirates and to monitor movements between Gallura and Corsica.
The marina sits between Asinara National Park and the La Maddalena Archipelago, making it a convenient starting point for boat trips along this stretch of coast. Short-term mooring requests are generally accepted between March and May for the summer season, so early planning is advisable.
The town takes its name from a small red granite island sitting to the northwest of the marina, and this same reddish rock appears throughout the surrounding coastline. Arriving by boat, sailors notice the warm color of the rocks before they even reach the dock.
