The Base de Plein Air - Lac Éguzon is an outdoor leisure base on the shore of a large reservoir in Éguzon-Chantôme, in the Creuse department of central France. The site sits among wooded hills and offers access to swimming areas, boat rentals, kayaking, fishing spots, and walking or cycling paths along the water's edge.
The lake was formed in the 1920s when a dam was built across the Creuse river to generate electricity and control flooding. Over the following decades, the area around the reservoir gradually became a place for outdoor recreation for people living in the region.
Fishing is one of the oldest habits at Lac Éguzon, and you can still see anglers along the shore in the early morning or late afternoon, waiting quietly for a catch. This simple practice gives the lake a slower, more local rhythm that sets it apart from busier summer spots.
