The museum is run by a volunteer group called the Amis du Vieux Corbie, which translates to Friends of Old Corbie. Members are happy to talk with visitors and share stories about the town in a direct and friendly way.
The museum opens during the summer months, from late June to the end of August, in the afternoon, and entry is free. It is easy to reach on foot from the town center and can be visited comfortably in about an hour.
The association maintains formal links with major libraries such as the British Library in London and the National Library in Saint Petersburg, because many manuscripts from the old abbey are now held there. One room is dedicated to Eugène Lefebvre, a pilot born in Corbie in 1878, who was among the early figures of aviation history.
