Cooper Park, Park in Bellevue Hill, Australia

Cooper Park is a large bushland park in the Bellevue Hill neighborhood of Woollahra, Australia. It is built around a creek that flows through the grounds, passing small waterfalls, and it includes walking trails, a playground, tennis courts, a cricket pitch, and open grassy fields.

The land originally belonged to the Cooper Estate and was purchased by the government in 1885. In 1913, Sir William Cooper donated part of the grounds to the local council for public use, which is how the park came to be formally established.

Cooper Park has a Nature Wellness Trail with six outdoor stations where visitors can pause for simple exercises. Signs and audio guides along the route invite people to slow down and pay attention to birdsong and other natural sounds.

The park can be reached on foot from Bondi Junction railway station in about 15 to 20 minutes downhill, and buses stop on Suttie Road nearby. Car parking is available on Bunna Place off Suttie Road, which is a convenient option for those arriving by car.

The creek that runs through the park follows a path shaped by an ancient volcanic feature buried in the ground below. This makes the seemingly ordinary stream a trace of a much older geological story beneath the surface.
