The Osulloc Tea Museum is a tea museum in Seogwipo, on Jeju Island in South Korea, set within large organic tea fields. The building houses exhibition spaces on the history of Korean tea, along with a tea shop and a tea house where visitors can taste different teas and tea-based foods.
The museum opened in 2001 as the first place in Korea dedicated to the tradition of Korean tea. Before that, the land was considered too rocky for farming, but the Osulloc company transformed it into the country's largest organic tea farm.
The museum sits among wide tea fields, and many visitors take tea classes or watch expert tea makers prepare drinks on site. The Tea Stone space is dedicated to this hands-on experience of Korean tea culture.
The museum is open every day and easy to reach by car from Jeju Airport or Seogwipo, making it convenient for visitors exploring the island. Going in the morning gives you the best chance to see the tea fields in good light before the crowds arrive.
The museum's building was recognized by the design platform designboom as one of the best art museums in the world. It was built with clean lines and natural materials that sit in harmony with the surrounding tea fields.
