The structure evolved from a 15th-century fortress to a Renaissance château in the 16th century, with later modifications by architect Jan Santini Aichel.

Located 168 kilometers from Prague Airport and 500 meters from the train station, the castle welcomes groups of up to 300 people for events.
The Church of the Holy Trinity next to the castle contains the third largest bell in the Czech Republic.
