Nové Město na Moravě

Nové Město na Moravě is a town in the Vysočina Region situated at approximately 594 meters elevation with nine administrative divisions. The area features the Bobrůvka River and several fishponds integrated into its natural surroundings.

The settlement was originally called Bočkov when first documented in 1267. Its present name emerged during the medieval colonization of the Bohemian-Moravian frontier regions.

The Horácká Gallery displays the region's glassmaking heritage through works created by local artisans. Visitors can observe how this craft has shaped community identity over many generations.

The town connects via the I/19 road to Žďár nad Sázavou and Boskovice, with a railway line extending toward Tišnov. Visitors benefit from reliable transport connections for exploring the surrounding area.

The Vysočina Aréna hosts world-class biathlon championships and UCI mountain bike world cup events across different seasons. These competitions draw sports enthusiasts from around the globe and define much of the town's identity.
