Church of St. Gall, Gothic church in Old Town, Prague, Czech Republic
The Church of St. Gall features a three-aisle basilica structure with a cross vault from the 14th century and a Baroque facade completed in 1738.
King Wenceslaus I of Bohemia established the Church of St. Gall in 1232 as one of only four main churches in Prague at that time.
The church contains valuable Baroque furnishings and significant artworks, including the monumental Calvary sculpted by Ferdinand Maxmilian Brokoff between 1719 and 1720.
Roman Catholic masses take place on Sundays at 8:30 AM and Monday through Friday at 12:15 PM, except during July and August.
Charles IV donated the head of St. Gall to the church after obtaining this precious relic from the Abbey of Saint Gall in Switzerland.
