Městská spořitelna pražská v Rytířské ulici

This building on Rytirska Street is a three-story bank with a facade decorated in Renaissance Revival style. Stone carvings cover the front, with detailed decorative elements running across each level.

Construction took place between 1892 and 1894 on a site where sheepskin workshops had operated since the 14th century. This building replaced those earlier structures, marking an era of urban transformation.

Stone carvings on the facade represent arts and crafts, reflecting how the city valued these activities at that time. Walking past, you can observe these symbols and understand what mattered to people in that era.

The location is easy to reach on foot in Prague's Old Town, where most visitors explore by walking. The building houses exhibition spaces inside, so visiting during daylight hours allows you to see both the exterior and any displays.

The structure is built from Horice sandstone, a local material that gives the facade its distinctive texture and warm color. Inside, a bronze chandelier in the entrance hall preserves the elegant character of the original design.
