Johann Rudolf Chotek commissioned the construction of Kačina between 1802 and 1822, with Dresden architect Christian Friedrich Schuricht designing the plans.
The Museum of Czech Countryside, housed within Kačina, presents thirteen chambers of the Chotek family and exhibits about agricultural development through centuries.
Visitors can explore the château through guided tours that include access to the historic pharmacy, theater, and the extensive English landscape park.
The château library contains a collection of valuable old atlases displayed in a circular room with a columned gallery and original 19th-century furnishings.
