Castle in Nové Dvory

Castle in Nové Dvory is a manor house near Kutná Hora featuring gardens, decorative gateway, and traditional design. The grounds include an open-air theatre, vegetable garden, maze, and exhibition spaces displaying period furniture in former residential chambers.

The building began as a fortress and underwent major transformation starting in 1534 into a Renaissance residence from 1588. A complete Baroque redesign between 1679 and 1686 established its present appearance.

The castle serves as a cultural meeting place where performances and events keep local artistic traditions alive for the community. Visitors witness how such historic buildings remain active centers rather than merely displaying the past.

Access is from Masarykovo náměstí street and the grounds are open for visitors to explore freely. Allow time to walk through the gardens, theatre area, and exhibition spaces without rushing.

Beyond the main building, the grounds feature a theatrical space designed for outdoor performances and a purposefully designed maze garden. This blend of residential history with recreational installations is less common in the area.
