Church of Saint John the Baptist

The Church of Saint John the Baptist is a Gothic house of worship in the village featuring a tall tower and multiple entryways serving different access points. Inside, three naves are distributed across the space, supported by column pairs, with functional areas including a presbytery and sacristy.

The building originated as a Romanesque basilica during the 13th century and underwent substantial transformation between 1893 and 1900 with restoration of Gothic elements. This restoration phase significantly shaped its current appearance.

The Ministry of Culture recognizes this church as a designated cultural monument, emphasizing its architectural value within the Czech heritage preservation system.

Visitors should expect the various entryways to offer different access routes to the building, with the interior divided into multiple zones. The spatial layout with its columns and functional areas requires some time to explore the floor plan fully.

Archaeological findings emerged during repair work in 2007, offering new insights into the building's early developmental phases. These discoveries reveal how the structure transformed across centuries.
