Kaňk

Kaňk is an observation tower in Kutná Hora that rises 30 meters and was built in 2013 from brick. The structure features a viewing deck with a restaurant and offers views across the town, surrounding mountains, and the flat landscape of the Polabí region.

The Kaňk area was settled in ancient times, as shown by archaeological finds from the Hallstatt and La Tène periods. The current tower was built in 2013 as a modern addition to a district with deep historical roots.

The name Kaňk refers to the historic district where this structure stands, rooted in the area's past. Visitors experience the location as a modern gathering point that connects them to the landscape and settlement patterns that shaped this part of Kutná Hora.

The tower is accessible via stairs with 144 steps or an elevator that serves people with mobility limitations. An elevated covered area houses a restaurant where visitors can try local food while enjoying the views around them.

The tower stands next to the Hewer's Hut restaurant, named after the miners who once shaped this region. This connection shows how modern structures carry forward the industrial heritage of the place.
