The Franciscan monastery in Cheb is a former house of the Order of Friars Minor with the Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, a three-nave Gothic hall church re-consecrated in 1285. The complex stands at the corner of Dlouhá and Františkánské náměstí, opposite the former Poor Clares' church of St. Clare; a sacristy, part of the monastery wall and a cloister with wall paintings survive.

The monastery was established in the 13th century and originally housed the Minorite order before the Franciscans took over. After a major fire damaged the buildings, it was reconstructed and continued as a religious center for several centuries.

The monastery reflects how medieval religious communities lived and worshipped through the layout of its rooms and chapels. The way monks organized their daily spaces shows their spiritual priorities and monastic customs.

The site is best explored on foot by moving slowly through the corridors and rooms. Wear comfortable shoes as the floors can be uneven, and allow time to discover the different spaces throughout the complex.

The cloister preserves wall paintings, but the sources do not date them to the 15th century. The monastery's own founding is documented in 1247 through the mention of a guardian, and it survived until 1951, when the Franciscans were forced out under the communist "Action K".
