Černá Studnice

Schwarzbrunnberg is a mountain summit in the Jizera Mountains rising to approximately 1,000 meters and defined by dense forests and granite rock formations. The steep slopes descend toward surrounding valleys, creating a typical mountain landscape with mixed woodland covering the ridges.

A wooden observation platform was built on the summit in 1892, making it one of the first tourist structures in the Jizera Mountains region. This construction marked the beginning of tourism development on the mountain, as early explorers worked to open the area to visitors.

The summit draws hikers from surrounding areas who gather here to share their love of mountain walking and outdoor exploration. This shared interest has made it a meeting place for local hiking groups.

Several marked trails ascend to the summit from nearby villages, with red markings providing clear direction throughout the hike. Visitors should prepare for changing weather conditions, as the exposed location and elevation mean conditions can shift quickly.

The summit's name comes from natural springs that flow year-round from the peak, a feature that shaped the area's character and continues to be visible today. These permanent water sources were vital to early travelers and hikers who passed through the region.
