Hronov is a town in the Náchod District that extends along the Metuje River at about 364 meters elevation. It administratively includes five communities: Malá Čermná, Rokytník, Velký Dřevíč, Zbečník, and Žabokrky.
The settlement formed between 1241 and 1285 during medieval colonization expansion in the region and first appeared in written records in 1359. It received town privileges in 1859.
