Pekárna Cave

Pekárna Cave is a prehistoric cave situated near Brno featuring a large entrance opening and a single long corridor. The interior stretches considerably and maintains natural lighting throughout, allowing visitors to see the cave walls and formations clearly.

People lived in this cave during the Stone Age and left behind tools and objects that archaeologists later recovered. Excavations conducted across several decades revealed multiple layers showing repeated human occupation at different times.

The cave displays engravings of bison and horses on its walls, created by early inhabitants long ago. These artworks offer a glimpse into how people represented their surroundings and what mattered to them.

This cave sits within a protected natural area and remains accessible year-round in reasonably dry conditions. Visitors should prepare for uneven ground and bring a light source if planning to explore the deeper interior passages.

A small carved bone figurine was discovered inside this cave dating back thousands of years into prehistoric times. This object stands among Europe's oldest known artworks and demonstrates the remarkable skill early people possessed in creating detailed sculptures.
