Pramenáč, Mountain summit in Košťany, Czech Republic
Bornhauberg is a mountain summit reaching 909 meters above sea level, with a rounded peak marked by a wooden cross displaying its exact elevation. The landscape around the summit offers open views across the surrounding hills and ridges.
The hillside was closely connected to the industrial development of the Teplice region, as shown by the nearby Bornhaus Tunnel from the late 19th century. These engineering works shaped how the landscape developed and how mining and transport influenced the area.
The name Bornhauberg reflects the historical presence of German-speaking communities in the Bohemian borderlands. This connection remains visible today in how the place is identified and remembered by locals.
The ascent starts from the Vitiška parking area with white markings labeled 'PR', taking around 30 to 45 minutes on foot. The terrain is relatively open and well-marked, making it easy to follow the route.
The summit offers views toward the Bouřňák ski area in one direction and the České Středohoří mountain range in another. This contrast brings together two very different landscapes from a single vantage point.
