Kmochův ostrov, River island in Kolín, Czech Republic
The largest of two islands in the Elbe River at Kolín spans 0.69 kilometers in length and 0.11 kilometers in width.
The first wooden bridge to the island was replaced in 1885 with an iron structure weighing 38.6 tons, constructed by Vojtěšská huť from Kladno.
The island received its name from František Kmoch, a music composer and bandmaster, and now hosts regular events including TPCA Beat Fest.
The island features pedestrian bridges from both riverbanks, a children's playground, boat rentals, and an amphitheater available for private events.
The park occupies the entire island surface of six hectares, providing a natural space within the urban environment of Kolín.
