The Church of Saints Simon and Jude features vaulted ceilings, Gothic windows, and a prominent pipe organ within its stone walls.
The site transformed from a hospital chapel in 1354 to a consecrated church in 1620, later receiving High Baroque modifications in the late 17th century.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Haydn performed on the church organ, establishing its reputation as a center for musical excellence.
The Prague Symphony Orchestra manages the venue at Dušní Street, offering regular concerts throughout the year with tickets available through their website.
In 1847, medical surgeon Celestine Opitz conducted the first operation under anesthesia at the connected St. Francis Hospital.
