The château features a distinctive X-shaped layout with a central circular space rising above the ground floor through two levels.
Count Václav Antonín Chotek commissioned architect Giovanni Battista Alliprandi to construct this residence during the 1820s near the Vltava River.
The entrance includes a grand double staircase adorned with baroque sculptures and a courtyard featuring statues representing months and seasons.
The château received 21,044 visitors in 2022 and maintains regular guided tours through its preserved interiors and surrounding park grounds.
In 1754, the château hosted the first economic exhibition in Czech lands, known as the Great Market of Czech Kingdom Goods.
