Mníšek pod Brdy

Mníšek pod Brdy is a municipality in Prague-West District that developed around a castle and a church located in rolling countryside. The settlement occupies land surrounded by hills and forests that define its setting.

The settlement was founded in 1348 as a fortress under royal control, passing through various hands during medieval and later times. The castle underwent significant renovation and artistic enhancement during the 1600s.
