Dejvické divadlo

Dejvické divadlo is a theatre building in the Dejvice district of Praha 6 that stages classical and modern plays. The venue is located on Zelená street in a neighborhood with apartment blocks and green spaces, about 2 miles (3 km) northwest of the historic center.

The theatre was founded to provide a permanent stage for drama in the western districts of Prague. Over the decades it grew into a frequently attended venue for Czech and international productions.

The name comes from Dejvice, the district where the building stands in a residential area near parks and universities. Locals often attend performances after work, filling the auditorium on weekday evenings with audiences who return regularly throughout the season.

The box office opens on weekday afternoons and evenings, and reservations are also available online. The building is in a quiet neighborhood, reachable on foot from Dejvická metro station or by tram.

The repertoire alternates between comedies and dramas, including adaptations of Shakespeare and works by Czech authors. Many productions run for several months and return in later seasons, so regular visitors can follow how the staging evolves over time.
