Šlechtova restaurace, Historic restaurant building in Stromovka Park, Prague, Czech Republic
The architectural structure stands on the shore of a former pond, featuring early Baroque design elements combined with Neo-Gothic modifications from the 1850s.
Built between 1689 and 1692 by imperial court master mason Jan Jakub Antonín Canevalle, the building served as a summer palace for Emperor Leopold I.
The restaurant received its name from Václav Šlechta, who managed the establishment from 1882 until World War II, making it a central social venue.
The building undergoes extensive reconstruction works since 2017, with plans to incorporate a cafe, restaurant, confectionery, and spaces for cultural events.
The structure connects to the Rudolf Tunnel, an underground water system that supplied water to the Royal Game Reserve since the 16th century.
