The cemetery contains over 1500 graves spread across its grounds, featuring Renaissance and Baroque style tombstones with Hebrew inscriptions and decorative carvings.
Established in the 15th century, the cemetery flourished during the 1800s when the Jewish population represented one-third of Holešov's total inhabitants.
The cemetery includes the tomb of Rabbi Sabbatai ben Meir ha-Kohen, drawing numerous Jewish pilgrims from Israel and the United States each year.
The cemetery grounds remain open to visitors throughout the year, with guided tours available through the Holešov Cultural Center upon advance reservation.
A ceremonial room within the cemetery displays wooden panels with prayers and painted botanical decorations, alongside a memorial listing 253 Holocaust victims.
