Karlovy lázně, Nightclub in Old Town, Czech Republic
Karlovy lázně is a five-story nightclub in a building along the Vltava River, with each floor dedicated to different music genres and entertainment spaces. The rooms are individually designed to create separate areas within a single venue.
The building originated as a 14th-century bathhouse with Roman thermal baths before its transformation into a nightclub in 1999. The conversion preserved the historical structure while adapting it for contemporary nightlife.
Each floor presents a different musical experience, from mainstream hits to hip-hop and dance music, drawing both local residents and international visitors. The space allows people to move between rooms and discover various sonic environments throughout the evening.
The venue sits in a central location within the Old Town and is easily accessible on foot. The different floors are connected by stairs and elevators, allowing easy movement between areas.
The building retains remnants of the original medieval bathhouse, with some structures still visible beneath the modern nightclub, creating an unusual blend of old and new. This layering gives the space a historical depth rarely found in contemporary venues.
