Zookoutek Břežanské údolí, Mini zoo in Lhota, Czech Republic.
Zookoutek Břežanské údolí is a small animal facility in the valley that houses native forest creatures such as badgers, foxes, wild boars, and birds of prey. The animals occupy enclosures designed to resemble their natural habitats.
The site was established in 1971 by Forest Enterprise Zbraslav as an animal sanctuary. It was later transferred to the Prague Archdiocese, which has managed it since then.
The place allows visitors to observe native forest animals in their natural setting and learn about the local wildlife that inhabits the surrounding region. The focus is on direct encounters with creatures that live in the forests nearby.
The location is roughly 500 meters from Prague-Zbraslav railway station and easily walkable from there. Note that the site is currently closed while construction and administrative processes are being completed before it can reopen.
The site takes in orphaned and injured animals and cares for them under specialists who hold permits for protected species. This work makes it an important place for rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife in the area.
