Olomouc Zoo

Olomouc Zoo is a facility in Svaty Kopecek located across a large forest area at the foot of the Low Jeseníky Mountains. The grounds are divided into several sections that house different animal species including giraffes, primates, predators, bats, and South American animals.

The facility was established in 1956 and began with domestic animals and species from the Czech Republic and across Europe. Over the decades, the collection expanded and diversified to include more animal species from different regions of the world.

The zoo plays an important role in saving endangered animals and works with other facilities to protect species from extinction. Visitors can see how dedicated teams care for these animals every day and contribute to their survival.

The grounds are easy to walk through and have an observation tower where you can see the surrounding area. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and plan enough time to explore all sections.

The predator pavilion houses a large aquarium where sharks and other marine creatures can be observed. This underwater experience is an unexpected attraction within a forest setting.
