Andrlův chlum, Mountain summit in Ústí nad Orlicí District, Czech Republic.
Andrlův chlum is a 571-meter peak in Ústí nad Orlicí District that features a distinctive 50-meter iron observation tower called Stříbrná krasavice. The tower provides views across multiple mountain ranges and the surrounding landscape is crisscrossed with hiking paths connecting various valleys and natural features.
The site received its first wooden observation tower in 1905, designed by builder Hernych and standing about 30 meters tall. This structure was destroyed by fire in 1918 and subsequently replaced by the current iron tower that stands today.
The mountain hosts the Hvězda lodge restaurant where Radio Orlicko broadcasts regional programming, connecting visitors with local Czech traditions and media.
The mountain is accessible via several hiking routes that lead to neighboring valleys and restored Baroque chapels with varying difficulty levels. Visitors should prepare for changing weather conditions and wear appropriate footwear for the mountain paths.
The Stříbrná krasavice tower serves as a television transmitter for DVB-T2 Multiplex 24, making it both a hiking destination and a working broadcast facility. Two other towers with the name Chlum exist in East Bohemia as part of the same broadcasting network.
