Andrlův Chlum

Andrlův Chlum is a steel observation tower near Ústí nad Orlicí in the Czech Republic, standing on a hilltop at approximately 559 meters elevation. The tower contains 183 steps that lead to a viewing platform where you can see across the surrounding landscape.

The current tower was built in 1996 and replaced two earlier structures, with the first one constructed in 1905 and destroyed by fire in 1918. A second tower stood at this location from 1941 until 1960.

The tower serves as a place where visitors learn about the surrounding mountain ranges, including the Eagle Mountains and the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. From here, you can understand how the landscape around Ústí nad Orlicí is arranged.

The tower is typically open from March through October daily except Mondays, while winter months allow access only on weekends. It is helpful to check the exact opening hours beforehand, especially during bad weather or outside the main season.

On clear days, visitors can observe four different mountain ranges from the viewing platform: the Giant Mountains, the Iron Mountains, the Eagle Mountains, and the Jeseníky Mountains. This makes the location a valuable point for understanding the geography of the entire region.
