Andrlův Chlum, Steel observation tower near Ústí nad Orlicí, Czech Republic

Andrlův Chlum is a light-grey steel lattice tower on the 560 m summit of Andrlův Chlum hill in the Pardubice region. An enclosed spiral staircase winds up inside the open framework to a glazed platform at 34.6 m, reached by 183 steps; the tower is 49.4 m tall and carries an antenna mast.

The present steel tower opened on 19 May 1996, built as a multi-purpose communications and tourist structure. It stands where two wooden lookout towers had stood before: the first from 1905 to 1918, the second from 1943 to 1954. The Czech Tourist Club manages the tower.

The tower serves as a place where visitors learn about the surrounding mountain ranges, including the Eagle Mountains and the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. From here, you can understand how the landscape around Ústí nad Orlicí is arranged.

The tower is typically open from March through October daily except Mondays, while winter months allow access only on weekends. It is helpful to check the exact opening hours beforehand, especially during bad weather or outside the main season.

On clear days, visitors can observe four different mountain ranges from the viewing platform: the Giant Mountains, the Iron Mountains, the Eagle Mountains, and the Jeseníky Mountains. This makes the location a valuable point for understanding the geography of the entire region.
