Hrádek - Museum of Silver

The Gothic castle houses exhibits about silver mining, featuring two distinct tours exploring the town's development and traditional mining techniques through reconstructed passages.

Originally built in 1312 as a wooden fortress, the structure underwent transformation into a Gothic residence between 1400 and 1420 under Václav of Donín.

The museum displays a collection of 185,000 items, including archaeological findings, mining tools, and artifacts that document the silver mining heritage of Kutná Hora.

Located at Barborská 28 in a pedestrian zone, the museum offers guided tours in multiple languages with separate admission fees for each exhibition circuit.

Visitors can experience medieval mining conditions by walking through an authentic silver mine tunnel wearing traditional protective equipment during the second tour circuit.
