U Eremita, Nature reserve in Branov, Czech Republic
The U Eremita reserve spans 8.6 hectares within the Krivoklat Protected Landscape Area, featuring diverse habitats between 250 and 330 meters above sea level.
The establishment of U Eremita as a protected area on October 11, 1984 followed extensive logging and cattle grazing activities during the 19th century.
The educational trail, created in 2000, includes information panels and marked trees that provide visitors with knowledge about local plant species.
Visitors can access the reserve via a path connecting Branov and Roztoky villages, with directional signs located along the Roztoky-Karlova Ves road.
The reserve contains more than 200 vascular plant species, including four protected varieties, and serves as a natural reproduction site for yew trees.
