U Eremita, Nature reserve in Branov, Czech Republic
U Eremita is a nature reserve located in Branov within the Krivoklat Protected Landscape Area. The terrain contains multiple habitats and sits at elevations between 250 and 330 meters.
The area received protected status in 1984 after experiencing heavy logging and grazing during the 1800s. This protection allowed natural habitats to recover and regenerate.
The educational trail, created in 2000, includes information panels and marked trees that provide visitors with knowledge about local plant species.
The reserve can be reached via a marked path connecting the villages of Branov and Roztoky. Being prepared for variable trail conditions will make your visit more enjoyable.
The reserve is home to more than 200 plant species, including four that are specially protected. It also serves as an important breeding ground for local yew populations.
