The Church of the Annunciation is a baroque building on Dolní náměstí with curved stone facades and ornate carved details from the 17th and 18th centuries. Inside, painted ceilings, marble altars, and religious sculptures create a layered visual experience across the main nave and side chapels.

The Capuchins came to Olomouc in 1614 and built their first monastery outside the city walls; it was demolished in 1642 after the Swedish occupation. The new convent and church rose inside the city from 1653, on land bought by the order, and the first Mass was celebrated in the presbytery in November 1655. The church was completed and consecrated in 1661.

The church is served by the Capuchin order, whose rule long restricted the church to portable organs; a fixed choir loft was only built in 1814. The high altar, carved in 1756 by Olomouc joiner Josef Wesenberger, holds an Annunciation painted in 1661 in the Vienna workshop of Tobias Pock.

The mosaic of the Annunciation above the portal replaced an earlier fresco by Jano Köhler, painted for the 700th anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi's death in 1926. Karel Benedík designed the 1972 replacement, made by the Ústředí uměleckých řemesel. The stone portal below carries the date 1658.
