The castle features a symmetrical four-wing structure with corner towers and a main courtyard, displaying refined Baroque architectural elements throughout the building.
Built in 1285 as Podhradec fortress, the castle underwent major reconstruction in the Baroque style by architect Antonio della Porta during the 17th century.
The castle contains the Knight's Hall, Mirror Hall, and St John the Baptist chapel, which showcase the architectural and artistic traditions of Czech nobility.
Guided tours operate hourly between 10 AM and 5 PM from May to September, with access to the Castle Gallery and Technical Museum in the riding hall.
The castle houses a collection of World War II aircraft archaeology, including fragments and documentation from air battles in the surrounding region.
