Vodopády Stříbrného potoka, Natural monument in Skorošice, Czech Republic
The Silver Creek Waterfalls are a series of cascades flowing through a narrow canyon, stretching approximately 110 meters with a total drop of 14 meters across multiple steps. The water moves through distinct sections, each with its own character and depth.
This natural monument received its protected status in 1965 when regional authorities in Šumperk designated it as important for conservation. The decision recognized the geological and hydrological value of the site early on.
The site draws photographers and nature lovers who come to experience the power of flowing water shaping the landscape. Visitors walk through the narrow gorge and observe how each cascade contributes to the ongoing transformation of the rock formations.
A blue-marked hiking trail from Nýznerov village provides access to the site, with stairs guiding visitors up to the upper cascades. The path can be slippery after rain, so sturdy footwear is recommended.
The flowing water has sculpted unusual shapes in the rock over time, including cylindrical and bowl-like formations known locally as giant pots. These formations stand out clearly in the areas with rapid currents and active cascades.
