Vysílač Krásné, Transmitter station in Krásné, Czech Republic
Vysílač Krásné is a broadcasting transmission facility located in Krásné, a small village in East Bohemia, consisting of a tall steel tube mast. The structure sits at 614 meters elevation on Krásný hill and distributes television and radio signals across the surrounding regions.
Construction took place between 1958 and 1960, making it the first television transmission facility in East Bohemia during the Czechoslovak period. The facility marked a major step forward in bringing broadcast media to the region during the Cold War era.
The transmitter facility distributes multiple television channels and radio stations, connecting communities across the Pardubice and Vysocina regions through media content.
The transmission site sits roughly 500 meters northwest of the village center at the hilltop and can be viewed from the outside. The location is quite isolated and best reached on foot or by car using local roads.
Large anchoring ropes stabilize the tall mast against wind and environmental forces, a technical solution that was innovative when the facility was first built. This design approach enabled such a tall structure to stand safely on the hilltop without additional supports.
