Villa Mitrovsky, Neoclassical château in Old Brno, Czech Republic

Villa Mitrovsky is a late-Baroque summer house built in the Neoclassical style of Louis XVI, standing on Veletržní street near the main entrance to the Brno Exhibition Grounds in Old Brno. Count Antonín Arnošt Mitrovský had it built from 1779 and work finished in 1794; a technical and sanitary wing was added beneath the terrace in 1978–1987.

Construction took place between 1779 and 1794, commissioned by the Mitrovský family as their summer residence in the expanding city. The property reflects the building activity that shaped Brno during this period of growth.

Count Antonín Arnošt Mitrovský, who had the villa built, was a patron of schools, an art collector and a member of a Masonic lodge. The building now hosts exhibitions, concerts, events tied to the nearby trade fair grounds, weddings and other social gatherings.

The villa stands on Veletržní Street, by the main entrance to the Brno Exhibition Grounds in Old Brno, about 500 m from the Starobrno Monastery. It is leased to a private operator and used for exhibitions, concerts, fair events and weddings. The 1978–1987 reconstruction added a technical and sanitary wing hidden under the terrace in front of the building.

A legend, never documented, holds that Napoleon Bonaparte spent a night here after the Battle of Slavkov. The story is unverified, but it clings to the summer palace.
