Dolní hrad

Dolní hrad is a castle ruin perched on a narrow rocky outcrop with remaining sections of a cylindrical defensive tower. The structure still displays Gothic window surrounds that reveal details of medieval construction.

The fortress was first recorded in 1377 under the ownership of Ješek Puška from Kunštát before falling to Albrecht of Austria in 1424. This conquest brought its period as an active stronghold to an end.

The coat of arms of the Puška family from Kunštát appears on the ruins, marking generations of noble rule at this site. These symbols of power remain visible in the stonework.

The ruins stand about 80 meters north of the upper castle, making it easy to visit both sites in sequence. The terrain is uneven, so wear sturdy footwear when exploring the area.

A preserved Gothic window with visible stone details from the 14th century draws careful observation from visitors. This craftsmanship reveals construction techniques that builders used centuries ago.
