Palác Pachtů z Rájova, Baroque palace in Old Town, Czech Republic
The Palác Pachtů z Rájova is a Baroque building on Anenské náměstí with symmetrical windows, ornate stone details, and a striking entrance portal. This three-story structure displays the hallmarks of noble architecture with fine detailing across the facade and a clear geometric layout.
This structure was built in 1755 during a period of active architectural growth in Prague and served as a residence for the influential Pachta family. The facade preserves the Baroque design language that dominated the city at that time and shaped many other buildings.
The palace sits on a lively square where locals and visitors naturally gather and orient themselves. Its ornate facade represents the artisan traditions of 18th-century Prague that still define how many people see the city's architectural character.
The palace stands in the Old Town on a square that is easily walkable and has several public transport connections nearby. From here, visitors can easily walk to other historical attractions in the surrounding area.
Inside the building are preserved ceiling frescoes from the Baroque period that feature elaborate ornaments and fine leaf motifs. These painted ceilings showcase the craftsmanship that was typical in such palaces of the era.
