Památník husitského vítězství u Domažlic, Hussite victory monument on Baldov hill near Domažlice, Czech Republic

The Domažlice National Monument stands on Baldov hill near Domažlice. Its core is a cuboid concrete base built for Kamil Roškot's planned 18-metre monument-viewpoint; in 2015 Václav Fiala's six-metre, 50-tonne granite chalice was unveiled on it.

The monument recalls the Battle of Domažlice in 1431, when Hussite forces defeated the papal army sent from Rome. This event demonstrated the power of a new religious movement against established church authority.

The monument marks the Hussite movement, a major struggle for religious and social reform in medieval Bohemia. Visitors can sense how important this period remains in Czech identity today.

The monument sits on a hilltop with good pathways and offers views of Domažlice town and surrounding mountains from the summit. The marked trail system makes the site easy to reach, particularly during warmer seasons.

The base of the monument was filled with stones donated by local residents and supporters during its construction in the 1930s. Each stone carries a personal story from people who valued this place as important to their community.
