Posázavská stezka

Posázavská stezka is a hiking trail that follows the course of the Sázava River through the hills and forests of Central Bohemia. The route connects different areas along the river valley with varying terrain and woodland sections.

The trail was established in the 1920s following initial planning and design work by a local teacher. Construction began after a delay caused by earlier events in the region.

Small settlements named after American towns line the riverbanks and were established by outdoor enthusiasts. These places show how local people have traditionally valued living close to nature and spending time outdoors.

The trail is accessible by train and car, with parking available at several entry points. Good walking shoes are important, and you should bring appropriate clothing for the season and weather conditions.

A stone railway bridge with seven arches spans the valley and stands out as a notable structure along the route. The viaduct demonstrates the engineering skill required to construct such a crossing over the landscape.
