The Regional Museum and Gallery in Most occupies the building of the former German state real gymnasium on Československé armády street, completed in 1913. Since 2019 the museum also uses the basement hall of the Dean's Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary as exhibition space.

The building was completed in 1913 as the German State Real Gymnasium. After the Second World War the German school closed and a secondary technical school used the building until 1981. The museum took it over in 1982 and opened it to the public after a renovation finished in 1996.

The museum holds objects that show how people in the region lived and worked in the past. You can see traditional crafts and the everyday items that shaped life in this part of Bohemia.

The exhibition rooms are easy to reach and accessible to visitors with mobility limitations. Plan to spend at least two hours if you want to see the different collections properly.

The museum keeps finds and documents from settlements that had to be moved because of mining activity. This collection is a rare record of entire villages that were displaced from their original locations.
