Rozhledna Obora

Rozhledna Obora is a wooden observation tower within Prague Zoo that stands 18.5 meters tall, featuring four viewing platforms connected by double-flight staircases with intermediate landings. The structure has a square base that narrows toward the top.

The tower was built in 2009, based on the design of a historic structure from the Jizera Mountains dating to 1892. This design connection links the modern construction to a much earlier architectural tradition.

The tower offers views of Prague's skyline, including the castle and the river valley stretching below. It serves as a landmark within the zoo grounds that visitors naturally seek out as they explore.

Access to the tower requires a Prague Zoo ticket, as it is located within the zoo grounds. Visitors should note that capacity is limited, with room for about 30 people at any given time.

The tower's square base is only about 5 meters wide and narrows significantly toward the top, giving it a distinctive tapered shape. This geometric feature is immediately noticeable and becomes the most memorable aspect of the structure.
