Rybniční zámeček

Rybniční zámeček is a neoclassical hunting lodge sitting at the edge of Lednice's ponds. The white building has a symmetrical, rectangular form that feels like a small jewel placed between the water and trees.

The building was created in the first half of the 19th century under architect Joseph Kornhäusel's direction. It was part of the expansion of the Liechtenstein family's estates in this region.

The lodge is part of a larger designed landscape where buildings and nature were intentionally combined. You can see how the owners once linked hunting and leisurely walks through the grounds.

The best way to reach the lodge is by following marked paths through the surrounding ponds and gardens. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes since the paths often run along the water and can be slippery in wet weather.

The lodge was specifically designed for hunting parties of the noble family and used the artificially created lakes as part of the hunting experience. The connection between the building and the water shows how hunting and landscape design went hand in hand back then.
